Ephesians chapter 2

You were dead through the trespasses and sins in which you once lived, following the course of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient. All of us once lived among them in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of flesh and senses, and we were by nature children of wrath, like everyone else.

But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved, and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.

So then, remember that at one time you Gentiles by birth, called the uncircumcision by those who are called the circumcision, a physical circumcision made in the flesh by human hands. Remember that you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the common wealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who were once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us. He has abolished the law with its commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new humanity in place of the two, thus making peace, and might reconcile both groups to God in one body through the cross, thus putting to death that hostility through it.

So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near, for though him both of us have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.

  3. we are joined together to create one structure
  4. we are citizens
  5. we are saints
  6. members of the house hold of God

ACCESS TO GOD THROUGH THE SPIRIT

What do you think of when the bible speaks of the Holy Spirit?
It is definitely something we do not see.
But we can see the works of it.

I have a body; and I see my body; but I cannot see spirits. But it has evidence. It has proofs that it exist.

The fruit of the spirit.
Man is bad and when we produce fruit it is evidence of the spirit that's in the man.
Man cannot take the credit because we are not good by nature. We are bad but when we do good it is because God made us who we are.
In the passage we have ACCESS to God but its through the holy Spirit.

In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.

In this verse it use to make connections between us together as well other scriptures that say we are connected to God this way. We are in the Spirit. We don't see it but we have proofs. There is no way to lie about the Holy Spirit. It is not in words but it is in deeds. What it does proves itself to be present. We really don't have to say it. It is just visible through actions. I know when I go to church and I hear people talk our spirits are joined. It makes sense. I sense that we have something in common. Or I hear a preacher on the radio; and its something working in my hearing. I hear the spirit. I feel it working in me through hearing him. We may not know each other but it is through the Holy Spirit we are connected.

When Jesus was born he walked around without the holy Spirit but at Jordan river the bible says the spirit descended upon him like a dove. It was at a certain point in his life. Do you think the same happens to us? He was still moral and good but when the Holy Spirit came upon him he could walk on water, multiply food, and do miracles.  He could do so many things. It was a point where he would begin doing what God made him to do.

Is it him doing it?
Or is it God?
It is the works of the Holy Spirit.
It drives him, it motivated him, and he gave it to us.
