Chapter 3
King David
Psalm 3
King James Version (KJV)
3 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
Many are against me....
It is not really a Christian thing to ask God to smite and break your enemies cheek bone but it is a real thing to feel. We all know some people that need to be smitten. But In reality we know the reward of the wicked and we don't have to pray for it but we ought to pray that they get saved but our emotions want the Lord to smite them.
In this chapter David is experiencing a human emotion. ( he is upset and not afraid to tell the Lord) These people are really giving him trouble; and they deserve to be smitten but I think (agree or disagree) God wants us to come to a place where trouble making people stop getting under our skin. In the first chapter we see God laughing at his enemies. He wants us to laugh too. It's similar to me going up to the Rock (Dewanye Johnson) and saying let's fight. I'm raging and imaging vain things. I bet he would laugh at me too. I believe God wants us to learn how to have a right response.

I think the right response gains heavens ear. Some people worship, some pray, but it tough when you are upset.
Enjoy the day
