Psalms Chapter 6
Psalm 6
King James Version (KJV)
6 O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?
4 Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
6 I am weary with my groaning; all night make I make my bed swim; I water my couch with my tears.
7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9 The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.
10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.

The Vex Soul
- Pain, discomforts, hurts, and tension affects us emotionally and physically. During times of distrust we have a tendency to speak it. It is natural or us to voice our distress and the more we focus on the distress our emotions and thoughts are affected. Lastly our physical bodies begin to feel the problems. When we are going through it is difficult.
- I noted that David is not speaking to a man such as himself but he is going to God. Sometimes people make things worst. I know very little people who can comfort me. It takes wisdom to discern how to help a sister or brother in need. I have also made the mistake of saying something stupid when someone else was in need. It's not done on purpose but it happens and honestly when we talk to people about our problems we are just making noise and the problem continues but once again David is praying, singing, and talking to God.
- David also confesses his physical discomfort for example his eyes are filled with grief, his soul is vexed; and he cries all night. It was really a time of sadness and pain.
- (A man who cries that's strength) He is not crying about a woman, money, or superficial things but he is crying about life and these horrible things we see on the earth. I know there are things and situations we cannot fix. Sometimes I hurt; I cry and I pray, God please fix it. My mother taught us as children if you ever find yourself in trouble call upon the name of the Lord. We attended our Church of God in Christ fellowship faithfully but she taught us there are moments in life where we will have to call upon the Lord. I promise you he has answered me. In the military service I prayed for strength and he gave it to me, in college I prayed for wisdom and he taught me, as an adult I pray for righteousness and he leads me. When I stray he nudges me back to the path. In today's society men want to do what they want but David is a great man (his character) to read about. What is strength to God? Not the WWF or WWE or famous rappers. David was a shepherd (this was consider to be a low job), he was also a worker for Saul, a giant killer, and King. His titles is many and it is important to remember we see him as King but he was with the sheep at his fathers house as well as well as a worker in the palace.
- He ends it with a change in emotions when he states depart from me; you workers of iniquity. He declares I want nothing to do with the workers of iniquity.
- (side note: he does not want to be bother with them-- for example their actions and words hurt people. Its hard to watch.
- Praying to change the emotion. (we go to God in expectation) David is seeking from God. He inquires of the Lord. It is submission, it is humility, it is honorable.
- Once again he has yet to heard from God.
Have an awesome day
