Amplified Bible
Psalms 10
There are moments of thoughts
moments where David is speaking to God.
Sometimes an aha moment!
- Have you ever thought and mediated on ideas.
- Have you ever found an answer you was looking for.
- Have you ever had random thoughts from God about a problem that was ailing you?
As I read, I try to highlight these various moments. There are also times he is quoting scriptures of sayings.
Psalms 10
{David describes the foe} What the enemy looks like working in a human body or a person who does not know God.
The amplified bible added brackets
1. Why do you stand afar off, O Lord? why do you hide yourself, [Veiling your eyes] in times of trouble (distress and desperation)?
2. The wicked in pride and arrogance hotly pursue and persecute the poor; let them be taken in the schemes which they have devised.
3. For the wicked man boasts (sings and praises) of his own heart's desire, and the one greedy for gain curses and spurns, yes, renounces and despises the Lord.
(in the book of Job he loses everything do you think God allows us to be tested to see if there is greed in us?)
4. The wicked one in the pride of his countenance will not seek, inquire for, and yearn for God; all his thoughts are that there is no God [so he never punishes].
5. His ways are grievous [or persist] at all times; Your judgments [Lord] are far above and on high out of his sight [so he never thinks about them]; as for all his foes, he sniffs and sneers at them.
(I find it odd that he sniffs and sneers at his foes; he is the foe but he has people he thinks is his foe).
6. He thinks in his heart, I shall not be moved; for though out all generations I shall not come to want or be in adversity.
7. His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, oppression (fraud) under his tongue are trouble and sin (mischief and iniquity)
(noun, plural in·iq·ui·ties.
gross injustice or wickedness.
a violation of right or duty; wicked act; sin.)
8. He sits in ambush in the villages; in hiding places he slays the innocent; he watches stealthily for the poor (the helpless and unfortunate).
9. He lurks in secret places like a lion in his thicket; he lies in wait that he may seize the poor (the helpless and unfortunate); he seizes the poor when he draws him into his net.
10. [the prey] is crushed, sinks down and the helpless falls by his mighty claws.
11. [the foe] thinks in his heart, God has quite forgotten; He has hidden his face; He will never see [my deed].
12. ARISE, O LORD! O God, lift up your hand; forget not the humble [patient and crushed].
13. Why does the wicked [man] condemn (spurn and renounce) God? Why has he thought in his heart, you will not call to account?
14. You have seen it; yes you note trouble and grief (vexation) to requite it with your hand. The unfortunate commits himself to you; You are the helper of the fatherless.
15. Break the arm of the wicked man; and as for the evil man, search out his wickedness until you find no more.
16. The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish out of his hand.
17. O Lord, you have heard the desire and the longing of the humble and oppressed; You will prepare and strengthen and direct their hearts, You will cause your ear to hear, that man, who is of the earth, may not terrify them any more.

What an awesome reading. As I read about the wicked. I want God to break his arm too. I feel exactly what David is feeling. The wicked are pretty bad. Its also sad to see that in this world the wicked pick on certain types of people:
- the poor
- the needy
- the fatherless
- the unfortunate
- the weak
Its like a giant bully. He doesn't take pleasure in fighting people who can fight him back but he wants to watch and lie in wait to hurt and oppress those weaker than him. In the passage it says he (the foe) crushes them with his mighty paws. David says help those in need O God.
- In this world we see men fighting women (a weaker physical vessel) If you are a male or man and you have an issue with a woman. It is not your job to fix her.
- That bullying spirit that picks on the weak or strange person in the room.
- or the rich oppressing the poor (taking advantage of them)
- Or us being so desperate to be rich we follow wicked people intimating them hoping to gain riches too.
- The unfortunate; and some people have not had smooth paths but let us try to make each day better and not worst.
When I think on the things the wicked do I get upset too. I want God to break a arm and a leg. I want God to deal with the wicked.
BUT NOW LET US TURN THE SHIP IN A NEW DIRECTION
WATCH YOUR EMOTIONS CHANGE.......MINES TOO.
But in the New Testament it says think on that which is good and of a good report.
No matter how much I think about how wicked some people are it doesn't change their behavior, there thoughts, or actions but we can lift God up because it won't be long before that wicked person is cut down. We know that in this world there is injustice it will always be. We can do good to counter the bad. Focusing on them only makes me mad.
OUR THOUGHTS AFFECT OUR EMOTIONS TOO.
I start it thinking and analyzing the wicked people I encountered. I want them smitten now right now! But that is just emotions. God wants them save; sadly not all will be saved but pray for that wicked person you know. According to this passage they are pretty mean. Pray for their victims and sadly is always somebody who is helpless so they will get away with it as it relates to people but not with God. If we being flesh are sicken by their actions and behavior how do you think a Holy God feels. They will face him in his timing.
