May 20, 2020, Psalms 70, John 2 Good Morning!
PSALM 70
Prayer for Help against Persecutors.
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.
God, come quickly to save me;
O Lord, come quickly to help me!
Let those be ashamed and humiliated
Who seek my life;
Let them be turned back and humiliated
Who delight in my hurt.
Let them be turned back because of their shame and disgrace
Who say, “Aha, aha!”
May all those who seek You [as life’s first priority] rejoice and be glad in You;
May those who love Your salvation say continually,
“Let God be magnified!”
But I am afflicted and needy;
Come quickly to me, O God!
You are my help and my rescuer;
O Lord, do not delay.
A man after God's Own Heart.
"Come and Save me"
David words are a real depiction of his emotions. They are so real they could be seen as dramatic or filled with passion. He inquires of the Lord. One consistent theme found in the Gospels is God's ability to see deep within us. He sees straight to the heart.We cannot lie to God. We cannot hid from God. He sees everything. He sees the intents of the heart. Our thoughts a far off. The psalms shows us its okay to be expressive to God. Just like David during our commune with God we can put away the ideas and be honest. It is great to be honest with God because he is looking at our heart. Even though What I might feel as a human being may not be what God thinks of my situation but he understands me. Another joyful thing to take away from the Psalms is God cares about how you feel. It doesn't matter if it is feelings of despair, desperation, and maybe those feelings are not accurate but they are real emotions.
- Our emotions are fleeting and fickle.

John 2
The Wedding Banquet
ON THE third day there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited with His disciples to the wedding. And when the wine was all gone, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no more wine!
Jesus said to her, woman, what is that to you and to Me? [What do we have in common? Leave it to Me.] My time (hour to act) has not yet come. His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it. Now there were six water pots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece.
Jesus said to them, Fill the water pots with water. So they filled them up to the brim.Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet]. So they took him some. And when the manager tasted the water just now turned into wine, not knowing where it came from–though the servants who had drawn the water knew–he called the bridegroom
And said to him, Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now!
This, the first of His signs (miracles, wonder works), Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory [by it He displayed His greatness and His power openly], and His disciples believed in Him [adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him].
After that He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and disciples, and they stayed there only a few days.
From my heart,
Regretfully, last year I allowed circumstances rob me of my bible time. Last year I found myself skipping or not reading my bible at all even though I am a person who enjoys reading especially the good book. But On New Years I picked myself up and brought in the New Year with Great Hope and expectations. However, who expected or foreknew that 2020 would be such a trying time. A time when Jobs are uncertain, and the thoughts of tomorrow is filled with uncertainty. In the darkness there is always a light that shines. This is a time to embrace hope. Refocus and regroup. Prepare and rethink things. For some people I see them changing and growing and others I see them carrying on like things have not changed. The world has changed and it is experiencing a pandemic, and times like these can be times of reflection because its sad times. But just to remember it is a New Year and God has let us see it and for that we have the opportunity to grow. I think the most tragic thing to me is to be the same the person I was last year. Or thinking the same way. If I didn't see inner change I would feel great despair. The change I am talking about is on the inside but I know most people think of change they think of problems or situations being removed. Sometimes real change is our emotions changing in the midst of the problem. I thank God for allowing me to grow. And for that I am grateful this year. During this time we have to find, seek, and pursue peace. I know it may sound strange but what about character, growth, and learning to be a better a person. God rewards that. Its strange how good things can come out of bad situations. I guess God can work all things together for our good.
Peace, Peace, Peace
You have an awesome day!
