 Jeremiah 51 

(It is believed that Jeremiah is the author of Lamentations)

“See, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer

    against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai.

 I will send foreigners to Babylon

    to winnow her and to devastate her land;

they will oppose her on every side

    in the day of her disaster.

• God stirs up a spirit against Babylon
• The judgments end
• Lamenting over the events take place in lamentations

The words of Jeremiah end here.

The Land of Babylon is going to be destroyed. Jeremiah is told to deliver the message to them. 

Things to note about Jeremiah

1. Scholars believe that he wrote the book of Lamentations
2. Lamentations follows Jeremiah in lamentations the Jews are in Babylon and they are lamenting the destruction of Jerusalem
