God with Us

TGIF

Psalms 14

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

God is with the generation of the righteous.

God is always looking at us.

He is with us.

He cares about how we treat one another. When he is with us it is important to have love and a heart for one another.

Matthew 9

The Calling of Matthew

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow Me" He told him.

And Matthew got up and followed him.

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples. "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?

On hearing this, Jesus said. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

God went to Matthews house. He had dinner with him. I am so glad he goes to the sinners house. When you see a sinner we tend to think they do no have God. God goes no where near them. That is an untrue. God is among the people.

His lesson that day

"Learn what this means"

He desires for us to have mercy and not sacrifice.

I think this is what he desires for us to (feel) as we find ourselves among different types of people. It seems to the Pharisees could only see the sin of the tax collectors but Gods sees people in need.

Have a great day!
