 God With Us

Joyful Monday!

Psalms 61

Lead me to the Rock

Confidence in God's Protection

1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.

4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

5 For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6 Increase the days of the king's life, his years for many generations.

7 May he be enthroned in God's presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.

The Parable of the Tenants

He is the Rock, and the Cornerstone

The Builders tried to reject the stone (the rock), but he cannot be removed from his position with the Father. They removed him from the vineyard but not from his place of honor with God.

12 Jesus then began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place. 2 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 4 Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully. 5 He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed.

6 “He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

7 “But the tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 8 So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.

9 “What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others. 10 Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:

“‘The stone the builders rejected

    has become the cornerstone;

11 the Lord has done this,

and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”

12 Then the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so, they left him and went away.

They lacked respect but may God bless the world and every person that stands for what is right. If we do what is right, we can never go wrong. We can have strong faith in confidence that things will turn out in our favor. If we compare it to baking a cake. There are ingredients needed for it to be successful. So, if you put in truth, honesty, hope, faith in the pot, surely goodness will come out. There is nothing to doubt or be confused by. Follow the recipe and things turn out right.

Have a great day!
