July 18, 2020, Psalms 128, Acts 3
Saturday July 18, 2020
Good evening! (On a different schedule today)
Psalms 128Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
for the man who fears the Lord.
May the Lord bless you from Zion;
may you prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children's
children--
peace be on Israel.
Acts 2 continued Verses 22-28
tongues like fire
Peter addresses the crowd,
Fellow Israelite's, listen to this, Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge, and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
The book of Acts
Peter addressed the crowd and I see him putting an emphasis on Jesus Christ. When we read we are all taking something different out of the reading. For example some are going to read it and feel God calling them, for me as I reading I want to learn how to ACT right. It is the book of Acts. Lord, I want to act like the Apostles, not so much there calling but how did they deal with the ugly side of persecution and not being liked because you testify to the name of Jesus Christ. Today people think its better to avoid Jesus name; they don't want to offend people. But it is not being old fashioned but the church is built on the revelation of Jesus Christ. When we get up in the crowd God gave you the platform to represent him so its not about making friends and more likely you are suppose to make enemies. These men were arrested and persecuted because of the name of Jesus Christ. They taught in his name. If you don't have Jesus or you refuse to speak about Jesus, I am sure no one will bother you. The key thing I detect is their testimony concerning Jesus Christ.
We can speak about good things and positive things but when you speak about Jesus Christ the kingdom of Darkness becomes angry; persecution comes immediately.
David said about him:
"I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my
tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest in hope,
because you will not abandon me to
the realm of the dead,
you will not let your holy one see decay.
You have made known to me the paths
of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.
THE PSALMS
The psalms has been referenced by Peter twice. The psalms is hidden treasures. They are filled with secrets. They have history and they have prayers and worship. There is prophecy in the book of psalms. Today makes 128 reading days in the psalms.
Have an awesome evening!
