Psalms 136

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords;
his love endures forever.
to him alone does great wonders,
his love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens,
his love endures forever.
who spread out earth upon the waters,
his love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,
his love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night;
his love endures forever.
to him who struck down the first born of Egypt
His love endures forever.
and brought Israel out from among them
his love endures for ever
with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
his love endures forever
to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
his love endures forever
and brought Israel through the midst of it,
his love endures forever
But swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea
his love endures forever
to him who struck down great kings
his love endures forever
and killed mighty kings
his love endures forever
Sihon King of the Amorites
his love endures forever
and Og king of Bashan
his love endures for ever
and gave their land as an inheritance
his love endures forever
an inheritance to his servant Israel.
his love endures forever.
He remembered us in our low estate
his love endures forever
and freed us from our enemies
his love endures forever.
he gives food to every creature
his love endures forever
Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever

God's Love is represented in his mighty actions.

Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge --from the middle of the gorge--to the Jabbok River, which is the border of the Ammonites . This included half of Gilead . King Sihon of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, was defeated.

Who was the Amorites?

Amorite, member of an ancient Semitic-speaking people who dominated the history of Mesopotamia, Syria, and Palestine from about 2000 to about 1600 bc. In the oldest cuneiform sources ( c. 2400– c. 2000 bc ), the Amorites were equated with the West, though their true place of origin was most likely Arabia, not Syria.

(King Og of Bashan was the last survivor of the giant Rephaites. His bed was made of iron and was more than thirteen feet long and six feet wide. It can still be seen in the Ammonite city of Rabbah.)"

The Apostles Heal Many

The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomons Colonade. No one else dared joined them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.

Performing signs and wonders

The signs were a token; or an indication of God's hand and it conveyed meaning.

The wonders made the people think or speculate curiously:
to wonder about the origin of these men.
They were filled with admiration, amazement, or awe; marvel.

God is not like the idols, He does perform. He does speak. He does do wonders.

He has mighty acts that is something common throughout the bible.

It was also the reason why persecution arose.

Nobody is going bother a place that does not have God's power. But when Peter healed the Lame man, that got the people's attention. It even brought them before Sanhedrin.

All talk and no signs and wonders is just talking. People need to be in awe of God.

Wonders and signs really demand people's attention because only God can do centain things so it conveys meaning that God is real.

He opened the red sea

He defeated Phoaroah
And many other mighty kings. They are buried but God is still alive.

Have a great day!
