August 04, 2020, Psalms 145, Acts cont...
We are down to the last five passages of the book of psalms. Of course many already know they are filled with praise to God. It is nice to put aside feelings and emotions and just thank God for who he is. So over the next five days how much can you highlight about God.
Psalms 145
A psalm of praise. Of David
I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Everyday I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness commends your works
to another; they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendor of
your majesty and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
they tell of the power of your awesome works.
They tell of the power of your awesome works and
I will proclaim your great deeds.
They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully
sing of your righteousness.
The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
The lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
The lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
All your works praise you, Lord;
your faithful people extol you.
They tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might, so that all people may know of your
mighty acts and the gracious splendor of your kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is
trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.
The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the
proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every
living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful
in all he does. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Chapter 9 cont...
Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem
Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the son of God. All those who heard him were astonished and asked, "Isn't he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on his name?
And hasn't he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests? Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.
After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him, but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him. But his followers too him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.
When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him,
Paul will have a very important role in spreading the gospel?
- The one person you expect to never changed has been changed; and he is preaching in the name of the Jesus.
- The Gentiles will have someone who can relate to them.
- God always has a plan. He is trustworthy.
- It is also very funny that the other disciples are cautious of him (this shows how much problems and troubles he caused) it also shows that we are flawed as people and we have to see the change. Paul was changed on the inside.
and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they tried to kill him, When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus. Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthen. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
Words to describe God......
