Paul Speaks to the People
As the soldiers were about to take Paul into the barracks, he asked the commander,
May I say something to you?
Do you speak Greek?
He replied, Aren't you the Egyptian who started a revolt and lead four thousand terrorists into the wilderness some time ago?
Paul answered, " I am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city, Please let me speak to the people.
After receiving the commander's permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd, When they were all silent, he said to them in Aramaic, Brothers and fathers, listen to my defense now. When they heard him speak to them in Aramaic, they became very quiet. Then Paul said: I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors. I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. I persecuted the followers of the way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison.
Proverbs 14
The wise woman builds her house,
but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
4 fears the Lord walks uprightly
but those who despise him are devious in their ways.
A fool's mouth lashes out with pride,
but the lips of the wise protect them.
Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty,
but the strength of an ox come abundant harvests.
A honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies.
The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none,
but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.
Stay away from a fool,
for you will not find knowledge on their lips.
The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,
but folly of fools is deception.
Fools mock at making amends for sin,
but goodwill is found among the upright.
Each heart knows its own bitterness,
and no one else can share its joy.
The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
but the tent of the upright will flourish.
There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
Even in laughter the heart may ache,
and rejoicing may end in grief.
The Mocker according to proverbs is a person who lacks KNOWLEDGE
In the gospels it says the roman soldiers mocked Jesus.
When you mock someone you are attacking or treating them with ridicule, contempt, or derision.
to ridicule by mimicry of action or speech; mimic derisively.
to mimic, imitate, or counterfeit.
to use ridicule or derision; scoff; jeer
There is one thing I noticed about a mocker they love what they do. It comes in various forms through people who in darkness. We all have things about us that someone could mock. You could mock the way a person chew, its meant to ridicule or to make fun of one. Acknowledging that you see them, because they want to be seen. They mocked Jesus. They mock God's word.
Have a great day!
