Daniel Prays for Safety in the Lions Den

DA 6:10, 16-22

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

16-22

So when the King gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lion's den. The King said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you! A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of nobles, so that Daniels situation might not be changed.

Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without entertainment being brought to him, and he did not sleep. At the first of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the den. When he came near to the den, he called out to Daniel in an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?

Daniel answered, "May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, your majesty.

1. God shut the lions mouth because God found him innocent

2. If he was guilty maybe he would suffered the ill fate but it says God found him innocent. There is nothing to fear when you do right. God will save you. Just because someone says something does not make it true about you. God is an seer of all things. It was his duty to save Daniel. It was the right thing to do. God does not destroy someone because someone else said something. God is righteous and Daniel was a righteous man. God was moved by the situation and Sometimes people say things with the intentions of harming others but thankfully God is there to save.

3. Daniel stood with God and God stood for him. God protected him. We don't have to fear people that harass, threaten, or abuse us because we are doing God's will but we should fear if we fall short of standing for God in the midst of people that's when loyalty matters.

Have a great day!
