Psalms Chapter 1
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law does he mediates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season,
and whose leaf does not wither,
whatever he does prospers.
The wicked are not so!
They are like the chaff
that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous,
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
- The righteous delight in what is right.
- The wicked will not stand in the judgement.
- The wicked will be like the chaff which the wind blows away.
- On the other hand God watches over the way of the righteous.
- Which way will you take?

THE BOOK OF MATTHEW
GOD AMONG US (Jesus and people)
Matthew 1.
Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ.
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us."
When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
God Among Us
The lord encountered many people during his time on earth. Each one unique in need and problems. Even though they had so many differences Jesus welcomed and interacted with all. Some people supported and embraced him while others rejected him.
Matthew 2
The Wise Men
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
God Among Us
His birth
The Wise Men
At that time King Herod was a powerful and force and he sent to inquire of the wise men. The wise men told Herod that the King had been born and that night God warned them in dream not to return to Herod.
- The wise were looking for him
- The world was not looking for him
- Thankfully the wise men were wise and did not return or listen to King Herod instead they listen to God.
- We are wise when we listen to God.
- We are wise when we look for him.
- We are wise when we refuse to listen to wicked people.
- We are wise when we think God thoughts.
Have a great day!
