 God With Us

Happy Thursday

Psalms 34

I will extol the Lord at all times;

    his praise will always be on my lips.

2 I will glory in the Lord;

    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

3 Glorify the Lord with me;

    let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me;

    he delivered me from all my fears.

5 Those who look to him are radiant;

    their faces are never covered with shame.

6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;

    he saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,

    and he delivers them.

8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;

    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

9 Fear the Lord, you his holy people,

    for those who fear him lack nothing.

10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,

    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

11 Come, my children, listen to me;

    I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 Whoever of you loves life

    and desires to see many good days,

13 keep your tongue from evil

    and your lips from telling lies.

14 Turn from evil and do good;

    seek peace and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

    and his ears are attentive to their cry;

16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,

    to blot out their name from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;

    he delivers them from all their troubles.

18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted

    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 The righteous person may have many troubles,

    but the Lord delivers him from them all;

20 he protects all his bones,

    not one of them will be broken.

21 Evil will slay the wicked;

    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.

22 The Lord will rescue his servants;

    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

Pleasant thoughts:

Words for meditation

Those that seek after God will lack no good thing.

God delivers and protects the righteous from all his troubles

Matthew cont,,,,

God is with us to teach us the righteous path

The Rich Young Man

Someone came to Jesus with a question.

"Teacher, what good things must I do to have eternal life?

"Why ask me about what is good?"

Jesus replied. "Only God is good. But to answer your question, you can receive eternal life if you keep the commandments."

Which ones? he asked.

And Jesus replied: "Do not murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother, Love your neighbor as yourself."

I've obeyed all these commandments, the young man replied. "What else must I do."

Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

But when the young man heard this, he went sadly away because he had many possessions.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to get into the Kingdom of Heaven, I say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!

It is more than just being good. Or even doing good deeds.

Remember what the Kingdom of God is like:

The search for pearls.

Seeking the lost sheep

A rich man cannot just enter into the kingdom. To just walk up to God and enter in may not be an easy thing to do. What is God seeking after in a individual soul. God is looking for treasures in the earth.

The Rich young man wanted to just enter in.....

Those that love God encamp around him and seek him.

David had many troubles and trials.

The poor has many troubles.

It's not about the troubles, poor, and rich. It has to be about our hearts.

1. The rich young man was not complete or satisfied with having money and being able to do good things. He did good things; but yet he finds himself in front of Jesus asking for more. He wants something deeper.

2. Jesus offers him a satisfying life........... to follow him. Jesus tells him well my son............. if you keep the commandments that is eternal life but was he really complete or perfect? What do you think?

Have a great day!
