 God With Us

Happy Friday

Spring is on the way!

God’s Kindness to Rebellious Israel

A Contemplation of Asaph.

78 Give ear, O my people, to my law;

Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 I will open my mouth in a parable;

I will utter dark sayings of old,

3 Which we have heard and known,

And our fathers have told us.

4 We will not hide them from their children,

Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,

And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

The passage continues on with God showing kindness to Israel but Israel does not fully change their ways. Question: We are taught to turn the other cheek. To love our enemies but what happens when an Christian shows kindness to an enemy and they continue to be cruel? Or you continue to do kind acts hoping to gain the person?

This is a tough question:

The question is tough especially in today's world. But guess what God experienced it first. What did he do? He allowed them to continue in their ways. He allowed them to reap the benefits of what they wanted to do. We cannot change or control people but we must always protect ourselves from being contaminated by darkness. Sometimes people will reject the kindness that you extend. It does not always change the other person.

But they sinned even more against Him

By rebelling against the Most High in the wilderness.

18 And they tested God in their heart

By asking for the food of their fancy.

19 Yes, they spoke against God:

They said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

20 Behold, He struck the rock,

So that the waters gushed out,

And the streams overflowed.

Can He give bread also?

Can He provide meat for His people?”

In the New testament Jesus experience this with the religious sectors who questioned all the good things he did.. It does not mean we stop doing good. We let them do what they fight to do. If a person is determine to be bad. Who can really stop them? If they cannot see how their actions will lead them who are we to stop them. We are given choices in life. Some people make their own choices and all we can do is allow them to do just that.

The actions of another person is just that---their own actions/own choices and they have that right. We might see where it leads but if they refuse kindness and love there is nothing left for them but to experience what they feel is best for them.

Luke cont..

The Lord has many Brothers and Mothers

"My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put into practice"

Have a great day!
