God With Us
Happy Tuesday!
His spent his days teaching.
He spent his nights on the mount of Olives
The Last Supper is recorded in the b-i-b-l-e. Remember the old school song, "Thats the book for me; I stand upon the b-i-b-l-e."
moving on......
The Last Supper
17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
18 He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
20 When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. 21 And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
22 They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, “Surely you don’t mean me, Lord?”
23 Jesus replied, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. 24 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
25 Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?”
Jesus answered, “You have said so.”
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you; I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
30 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
The Last supper was beautiful:
The Celebration of Passover:
Passover was an event, but they celebrate it by eating. Today we communion with bread and blood (bread and juice (representational). That is how we celebrate Passover it is a remembrance, and it is eating.
They remembered the deliverance of the children of Israel.
Communion
He told them to eat and drink celebrating the new covenant. Today we have been delivered as well. Just like the children of Israel and we all have a testimony. We all have a story about how we were saved.
Betrayed by A Disciple:
Betrayed by a friend. We tell our inner most thoughts to those we are close too and it is the nature of the devil to betray. He is not loyal to anyone. He wants to kill, steal, and destroy and during this time the enemy used someone close to Jesus. Judas. Guess what a disciple Jesus knew and was close too was a devil. Afterward Judas's guilt tormented him. The Lord was more than a Lord to his disciples. He was an awesome friend that loved righteously. Judas reasoning for betrayal was money. Why is this significant? It is because this was the door the enemy came through. Do not ever think the devil can just show up at your door. He shows up but someone has to answer it. For us we know how to keep those on the inside from opening the door. Secondly it was the Lord's will to go through what he went through so to end this section let's say; all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord. That friend or those friends that betrayed you or that person that got close to you only to talk about you will not prosper. It will serve God's purpose in your life. Judas's mind and guilt caused him to suffer not any type of punishment from God. He left God. God did not leave him. God was not with him. The Pharisees did not respect him for betraying the Lord even though they used him. He could not go back and be true to his old friends. He ruined his life.
Betrayal loses
Loyalty wins everytime.
PSALMS 103
Of David.
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
David sings of the Lord's Love.
Have a great day!
