Happy Sunday!
The beauty of the cross
He went to save us
We are ever rejecting him
He let them have their way
We now have life when we believe in him.
He destroyed the temple and built his church upon the rock. (faith in him)
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
— Romans 5:8The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead — whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree.
— Acts 5:30May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
— Galatians 6:14He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
— Mark 8:31You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
— Romans 5:6-7For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
— 1 Corinthians 15:3-5Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
— Luke 9:23And anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
— Matthew 10:38-39...but [Jesus] made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross!
— Philippians 2:7-8
