Happy Friday

Happy Fall Season

The leaves are changing and the weather is cooling down.

The Amalekites Defeated

At Repidim the Amalekites attacked the Israelites.

During the fight Moses stood on top of the hill with the staff of God in his hand as Joshua and others in the camp went out to fight. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelite's were winning but when he lowered them the Amalekites were defeated.

They fought till sunset and Joshua defeated the Amakekites with the sword because they attacked them Moses told the people; The Lord will be at war against the Amakekites from generation to generation.

God also promised to blot out their name in heaven.

God is faithful

  1. The people are not always faithful. When things are tough they run. When they get attacked or things go wrong; God comes in to help them. He is demonstrating or modeling faithfulness and love to them but they fail to return love to him.
  2. He does not stop being God when their is a problem with them or an attack on them. But he goes out to battle with them.
  3. He does not complain and say, "I should have left them in Egypt; I am so tired of them; I always have to help them.
  4. He faithfully helps them.

I know that problems in life suck. I know first hand how it feels to think  that there are more problems than we may want to experience especially as a Christian. To have one day or even a week with no issue is like glory, to glory, to Glory. But on most days there is something to work on. Something to fix. Also I have learned to just shut up and  fix the problem. Or sit down and think what can I do to fix it. Is there something I am doing to cause this. Do I need to make some changes. Sometimes the problem is too big for me or it could be an attack from another person or a group and then we need God's help to fight the battle (of course not physically) but it feels like it is a battle when  you deal with someone who is contrary to you or against you.

I can take away from their desert experience that:

Problems don't leave because you become a christian

Sometimes things are more intense.

That's why some people want to be in the world because they may have less problems

If you think God saves you to take away all your problems let us learn from this desert experience that we are thinking wrongly. Problems come but as we can see God can handle them all. It is okay to trust him even in the problems. He desires faithfulness in the bad times. It is easy to be faithful in the good times. The promise was not a problem free zone but it was a land flowing with milk and honey but it was not a cake walk or a life free from problems.

Have a great day!
