God Among Us
Psalms 3
Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
Many are saying of me,
God will not deliver him.
But you Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the one who lifts my head
high.
I call out to the Lord,
he answers me from his holy mountain.
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
Arise, O Lord!
Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
- The Lord sustains him
- The Lord will deliver him
- The Lord is always with us
- There are many foes and the Lord will be with him.
Doing what is right can be offensive to some people. There will always be two types of people ones who become a friend and others opposition. Sometimes there is more foes than friends.
Matthew 4
Jesus Calls his Frist Disciples
Jesus meets two of the disciples
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
Come, Follow me, Jesus said, and I will send you out to fish for people. At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Life brings us across the paths of people and in this life they would become friends and disciples of Jesus Christ. I can image the immediate connection they felt towards Jesus. Something on the inside moved them to follow and serve the Lord. They shared a common connection. In Christ Jesus we find brothers and sisters.
Have a great day!
