June 13, 2020, Psalms 94, John 11 The Death of Lazarus

Psalms 94

The Lord is a God who avenges.
O God who avenges shine forth.
Rise up, Judge of the earth;
pay back to the proud what they
deserve. How Long,
Lord, will the wicked,
how long will the wicked be jubilant?
They pour out arrogant words;
all the evildoers are full of boasting.
They crush your people, Lord;
they oppress your inheritance.
they slay the widow and the foreign.
they murder the fatherless.
They say, "The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob takes no notice.
Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools when will you become wise?
Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?
Doe he who discipline's nation not punish?
Doe he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
The Lord knows all human plans;
he knows that they are futile.
Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,
the one you teach from your law;
you grant them relief from days of trouble,
till a pit is dug for the wicked.
For the Lord will not reject his people
he will never forsake his inheritance.
Judgement will again be founded on
righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evil doers?
Unless the Lord had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
When I said, "My foot is slipping"
your failing love, Lord, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
you consolation brought me joy.
Can a corrupt throne be allied with you-
a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?
The wicked band together against the righteous
and condemn the innocent to death.
But the Lord has become my fortress,
and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
He will repay them for their sins and destroy
them for their wickedness; the Lord our God will destroy them.

A horn in the scriptures represent strength.
The Lord hears everything.
He sees everything.

John ( The disciple who Jesus loved)
The Death of Lazarus

Now a man name Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, Lord, the one you love is sick.

When he heard  this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, and then he said to his disciples, "Let us go back to Judea."

But Rabbi, they said, a short while ago the Jews there tried to stone you, and yet you are going back?

Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble. For they see by this world's light. It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light. After he said this, he went on to tell them, Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.

His disciples  replied, Lord, if he sleeps he will get better. Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. So then he told them plainly, Lazarus is dead, and for you sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him. Then Thomas (also know as Didymus) said to the rest of the disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with him.

Have a great Day!
