 Topic: Prayer and Praise

Happy Monday

Praise God because he is above in the heavens. 

When something is above you it is greater than you. People say beneath them or above them in the sense that we try to measure ourselves against other people because we want to feel good about ourselves. In reality God is really is above us. He has all knowledge. He is wisdom. He has the seven spirits of God. He is fire. He consumes fire. He is the King of all creation. He is the Father. He walked on the water. He tells the sun to rise. He really is above us. 

1 Ki 8:33

"When your people Israel have been defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you, and when they turn back to you and give praise to your name, praying and making supplication to you in this temple, then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them back to the land you gave their ancestors. 

8:35

When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to you name and turn from the sin because you have afflicted them. 

Praise and Affliction

Who can explain the wonders of God. When you find yourself in darkness and God delivers you there is a praise that is real and so strong, and a great joy. I want to say the people sinned against God and he caused them to be defeated by an enemy but later he brings them back and when they turn back there is great joy.
