Forgiveness

God is forgiveness

Unintentional Sins

The old testament provides clear details.

The old testament was a guide. It is a light unto a man's path to understand how to walk with God. If a person decided that they didn't want to serve God they were given the freedom to serve other things. In the old testament there were lots of people who did not serve God. The Canaanites, Amalekites and so forth. The bible is written for believers and people who want to walk with God because they love him. He is creator but he doesn't make anyone do anything. During Moses time the people complained about the way God did things. He would give them commands. A command is just an order. We say commandments. Thou shalt not......do this or that. When I think of the commandments they are reasonable. We should not want to do the things he listed. But man and women we sometimes have a nature that hates to be controlled or given orders. And some of the people did not listen. They did things the way they wanted too. Often times their plans would be against what God wanted. So after all is done they would have to humble themselves and come back to God and ask to walk with him again.

(Savior) This was a constant thing happening. But God found a way to make things go smooth between him and man. He also wanted to relate to man. We love Jesus because he became like us to truly understand flesh and blood. His passion is beautiful. If you ever doubted God's love re-read the bible with a different heart. He tells us things that actually keeps us safe. He just gives them to us directly.

God dealt with the groups of people in the old testament but as you travel forward in your reading God changes things because people were consistent in making mistakes. It becomes more intimate and personal instead of community.

Offerings for Unintentional Sins

22 “‘Now if you as a community unintentionally fail to keep any of these commands the Lord gave Moses— 23 any of the Lord’s commands to you through him, from the day the Lord gave them and continuing through the generations to come— 24 and if this is done unintentionally without the community being aware of it, then the whole community is to offer a young bull for a burnt offering as an aroma pleasing to the Lord, along with its prescribed grain offering and drink offering, and a male goat for a sin offering. 25 The priest is to make atonement for the whole Israelite community, and they will be forgiven, for it was not intentional and they have presented to the Lord for their wrong a food offering and a sin offering.

Have a great day!
