Perspective: Pro- life

The term Pro-life is defined to mean a view point that opposes abortion and euthanasia. A lot of bible believers teach and believe that being pro-life is a major reason to vote for a candidate. Our role as believers should be based on God revealing to us the right person.  The term pro-life does not make a person approved by God. The term is mainly associated with the Republican party it does not mean the person running has a life perspective as it relates to God. It has been a view point that the republican party coined as their own. History has shown that those same pro-life candidates are sometimes for wars and issues that sometimes bring death to communities. People suffer during war and there will always be lives lost. If life is the goal and the reason for voting for a person is their perspective on abortion; there is a contradiction. All men deserve life. Born or unborn. All men deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. As you vote go behind the views of the party. Look at how the candidate treats their spouse. Their past history. Who are the people they have helped; as well as their personal choices in life. The title pro life does not mean they are about life but being a person that loves all people really shows who the person is more than the title they carry.  During covid more U.S citizens died from the virus during a pro-life administration. Currently in Iran people are suffering and dying. I know many reasons have been given to explain why people are hurting right now; but I am sure most people who voted expected things to get better for all people but we see things are going in an unexpected direction. Are we making choices for life or death. A man or woman can wear the tittle pro life but they must really care about all lives for their stance to be valid. Their life must show a respect for human lives in all people. Babies, unborn babies, African Americans, Caucasians, asian, Middle east descendants, Indians, and all races.

JACOB HAS PROBLEMS!

What do we do when have people problems?

It seems to be a contradiction when the New Testament says "WE WRESTLE NOT WITH FLESH AND BLOOD" but most problems we have include a person doing or saying something.

Jacob had an issue with Laban. A man that sees the situation from a negative perspective. He does not see things as God sees them. Laban sees Jacob as his servant when Jacob is more than that. Secondly he does not treat him with respect as it relates to his wages.  Jacob also has to face his brother as he flees Laban and all those issues. He has not seen his brother since stealing the blessing. But, Jacob wrestles with God (doing what God wants you to do despite the problems).

Wrestle with his word. Sometimes its hard to do the right thing. Its not always easy. Sometimes you hurt someone and you have to humble yourself and make peace.

Doing what is right when things are not fair and people treat you with disrespect; but you turn and wrestle with God. We must not FIGHT THE PEOPLE OR PERSON but you do what God wants you do. He says to bless your enemies and not curse them! We are not justified to ever do evil even when things are not fair. Even when you are right in the situation. Even when you are persecuted (hated for no reason). We can never take vengeance spirit or operate with an evil spirit.

Jacob does not fight evil with evil. Jacob gives his brother a gift. He apologizes. He flees from Laban. He had to feel heavy all those problems at one time.

Jacob Meets Esau

33 Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming with his four hundred men; so he divided the children among Leah, Rachel and the two female servants. He put the female servants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph in the rear. He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.

But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept. Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children. “Who are these with you?” he asked.

Jacob answered, “They are the children God has graciously given your servant.”

Then the female servants and their children approached and bowed down.Next, Leah and her children came and bowed down. Last of all came Joseph and Rachel, and they too bowed down.

Esau asked, “What’s the meaning of all these flocks and herds I met?”

“To find favor in your eyes, my lord,” he said.

But Esau said, “I already have plenty, my brother. Keep what you have for yourself.”

10 “No, please!” said Jacob. “If I have found favor in your eyes, accept this gift from me. For to see your face is like seeing the face of God, now that you have received me favorably. 11 Please accept the present that was brought to you, for God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” And because Jacob insisted, Esau accepted it.

12 Then Esau said, “Let us be on our way; I’ll accompany you.”

13 But Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender and that I must care for the ewes and cows that are nursing their young. If they are driven hard just one day, all the animals will die. 14 So let my lord go on ahead of his servant, while I move along slowly at the pace of the flocks and herds before me and the pace of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir.”

15 Esau said, “Then let me leave some of my men with you.”

“But why do that?” Jacob asked. “Just let me find favor in the eyes of my lord.”

16 So that day Esau started on his way back to Seir. 17 Jacob, however, went to Sukkoth, where he built a place for himself and made shelters for his livestock. That is why the place is called Sukkoth.

18 After Jacob came from Paddan Aram, he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in Canaan and camped within sight of the city. 19 For a hundred pieces of silver, he bought from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, the plot of ground where he pitched his tent. 20 There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel.

How beautiful,

Jacob is humble and respectful to his older brother.

His brother does not try to pay him back but he embraces him even though Jacob did him wrong. We must never feel justified to do evil even when we have been done wrong. God does not ever accept that but he is the judge between two people that have a PROBLEM.

His brother forgives him.

Have a blessed day!
